Pray for resources as we seek to provide help for the people in the drought-stricken areas of Somalia.
Thousands of Somali people, though accustomed to living in extremely harsh conditions, are fighting for survival as the supply of water diminishes. Wells and reservoirs have gradually dried up in the face of severe drought. Faith in Action and it’s partners have begun to reach out to the people in the needy areas of Somalia by delivering relief aid, especially life-sustaining water.
What an amazing privilege to reach out to the hurting, needy people in our sphere of influence in the name of Christ. Though we often feel overwhelmed and inadequate, we realize that we are not called to fix everything, only to be faithful to our calling, to take that cup of cold water where He leads us.
The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. —Psalm 33: 10-11
One-third of Somalia's population is in desperate need of help. Extreme drought conditions has completely depleted the nations supply of water. Somalia is a country in crisis.
